Storlien Högfjällshotell is not only a legendary mountain hotel, we are a complete mountain destination, located in western Jämtland on the border between Sweden and Norway. The hotel is situated 620 m above sea level and is surrounded by mountains, crystal clear streams and lakes, forests and untouched nature with rich wildlife and rare plants.

Since 1935
The hotel has been home to celebrities, ski enthusiasts, nature lovers and conferences since 1935. It has recently reopened after an extensive and painstaking renovation that has restored it to its former glory. The building is an attraction in itself with a genuine atmosphere from old times with highly preserved original interiors, furniture and works of art of various kinds.

The hotel is open every day, all year round for families, groups, conferences and different kind of events and it can easily be accessed via Trondheim Airport Værnes in Norway (70 km), Östersund Airport in Sweden (150 km) or by train from major cities in Sweden.

Winter in Storlien

When snow covers the mountains, Storlien transforms into a winter paradise. Here you’ll find 23 slopes, 9 lifts, and skiing suitable for both beginners and experienced skiers. For cross-country enthusiasts, there are miles of groomed trails, and for those who want to explore untouched mountain nature, there are endless opportunities for ski touring. Ski school and rental make it easy for the whole family to hit the slopes.

When winter loosens its grip, the mountains invite you to hiking, cycling, fishing, and other outdoor adventures. There are trails for both families with children and experienced hikers, cycling routes in varied terrain, and opportunities to explore the tranquility and colors of the mountains. For the adventurous, Rypetoppen Adventure Park is just across the border in Norway—perfect for climbing and ziplining.
